Your May Fresh Fix
Get Summer-Ready: Prepping Your Extensions for Warmer Weather
As the temps rise, it’s time to prep your extensions for sunshine, heat, and fun!
Here’s how to keep them looking gorgeous:
-
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate: Swap in a moisturizing shampoo + conditioner to combat summer dryness. Atlantis shampoo & conditioner would be a great summer combo.
-
UV + heat protectant is non-negotiable: Apply before heat styling and anytime you’ll be outdoors (yes, even at the pool or patio!) - check out High Dive or Waterfall for a UV protectant.
-
Tie it up with care: Use a soft scrunchie or braid your hair before swimming or spending time outside to avoid tangles.
-
Clarify + detox: Use a gentle clarifying treatment every few weeks to remove sunscreen, sweat, and product buildup — but follow with a deep conditioner. Teacup is hands down the best detox rinse and so easy to use.
-
Regular trims + check-ins: Schedule maintenance appointments to keep split ends and tangles at bay.
-
Be sure to use your mineral based sunscreen to avoid discoloration of your hair extensions. This is especially true for blonde extensions.
Your extensions will thank you with extra shine and longevity all summer long!

Book Club:
GET LIT RECAP & WHAT'S NEXT
We had such a great time this month diving into Caraval by Stephanie Garber! The group was full of laughter and although it was not a book we were as excited to talk about, we still had a blast and closed down the salon at 9pm. Our format is changing and we will be reading our chosen book so we can discuss it the next time we meet.
So, for May we’re reading both:
✨ Quicksilver by Callie Hart
✨ Does It Hurt? by H.D. Carlton
Please check online for book descriptions and as always, if you're not interested in reading one or both books this month that is totally okay. We’ll be discussing both books together — so get ready for a packed conversation!
Looking ahead:
🌸 June will feature a brunch meetup — details coming soon.
🎨 July is extra special: we’ll gather at my house for a paint-and-sip, pajama brunch experience! During July’s meetup, we’ll also pick the book we’ll start reading for discussion at our September meetup.
